Center for Transport and Green Mobility
University of Vlora IECC: UV – Center for Transport and Mobility. The „UV center for Transport and Mobility“ aims to promote the challenges of road and maritime transport by integrating scientific research, education, and practical training. With a strong focus on promoting green and hybrid technologies in transportation advanced design techniques, emissions and decarbonisation of transport, as well as materials for road and maritime vehicles.
The center focuses on:
- Providing the technical knowledge necessary to address green mobility challenges in sustainable road and maritime transport.
- Focusing on emission analysis and decarbonisation strategies specifically for road and maritime transport to reduce environmental impacts in these sectors.
- Offering knowledge on best practices on the latest technology on automotive and maritime transportation
- Trainings on advanced techniques such as CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) to enhance the design and simulation of innovative transport systems.
- Upgrading knowledge and skills of students and professors on latest technology on automotive and maritime transportation, in order to prepare qualified individuals for the needs of the industry.
- Use of the IECC for training of stakeholders for better knowledge and competencies as well as for increasing the revenues of the Institution.
- To create opportunities for collaboration (international universities and institutions, as well as with the local industry) to promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the field of transport and mobility and to improve the community collaboration.
- Students and professors of the university. All the professors and students of the Department of Engineering and Marine Technology and others from the Faculty of Technical and Natural Sciences;
- Industries such as General Directorate of Road Transport Services, Vlora Municipality, Vlora Harbor and Vlora Shipyard;
- Final year University students, master students who are interested in automotive and maritime engineering.
- Other INTEC partners who are interested in our trainings.
The IECC is located at the Faculty of Technical and Natural Sciences. More specifically, the IECC will be incorporated in the Department of Engineering and Marine Technology.
University of Vlora offers trainings for students and stakeholder to prepare them for the labour market. The mission of the IECC is to create synergies between the University of Vlora and local/regional stakeholders. This will give the chance to Vlora University to offer services to third partners, increase its revenues, increase its social responsibility and prepare the future students for the job market.
Courses offered:
- Training 1 – Energy transition for greener transport. The main objective is to give trainees basic understanding about the Energy transition for a greener transport. The exhaust gas analyzer can be used as a demonstrative tools for emission analyses.
- Training 2 – Climate Change and Shipping Response. This training seminar aims to provide an overview of air emissions and climate change issues as well as the international response and frameworks.
- Training 3 – Key Enabling Technologies for green Shipping: Promoting green shipping technologies for greener maritime transport in Albania. The training aims to promote some of the best international practices regarding green shipping technologies, aiming to increase awareness about the use of innovative technologies for an environmentally friendly Maritime Transport in Albania.
- Training 4 – CAD applications in Design. Give students some fundamental CAD skills and an understanding of how CAD software enhances design efficiency and accuracy.
- Training 5 – Understanding Hybrid Energy Solutions. The objective of this training is to familiarize participants with hybrid energy solutions, exploring their applications, challenges, and impacts on efficiency and environmental sustainability. The Hybrid engine trainer equipment will be used as a demonstrative tool, in order that students can understand the structure of a hybrid engine.
- Training 6. Hydrogen Production (Energy Produced from Hydrogen) and cars with hydrogen. The objective of this training is to give to students’ basic knowledge about cars with hydrogen.
- Training 7 – CAD Design techniques and modelling of hulls of vehicles of maritime transport. The main aim of this training is to give students the basic knowledge regarding the geometric modelling techniques and procedure used to model the hull of a maritime vehicles in CAD modelling environment.
