The Polytechnic University of Tirana (PUT) will establish a training center called „Sustainable Mobility Engineering Hub“ (SMEH), which will position itself as a driving force in green transportation, sustainable mobility, future technologies to reduce energy consumption and emissions. Through advanced trainings and innovation, the SMEH will contribute to Albania’s alignment with European Union directives and global sustainability goals. We will offer trainings to students and stakeholders and will prepare them for the future needs on the job market. The trainings in the IECC´s will also be integrated in the curriculum of the mechanical engineering department to guarantee sustainability.
Its focus is on fostering the adoption of green transport solutions and sustainable mobility in Albania by implementing advanced technologies. By leveraging European Union directives and addressing the region’s unique challenges, SMEH will act as a pivotal player in reducing energy consumption and enhancing energy efficiency.
The Sustainable Mobility Engineering Hub will operate initially with three courses over the first six months and then we will adopt them based on the feedback we will get on each training. We will introduce new courses after the 6 months of opening phase. Participants will be university students, private companies and public institutions seeking advanced training in sustainable mobility technologies and in simulation activities.
We will offer the following focal points:
- Simulation of efficiency with MATLAB
- Decarbonization, sustainable mobility
- Electric vehicle design and acoustics
- Leadership training
The center aims to generate revenue through training fees, governmental funding, and industrial collaborations. This revenue will cover operational costs and support the center’s sustainability. We will offer training courses on special topics of sustainable mobility and hands-on trainings with simulation activities. We will have a training center with laptops and software to perform good practice courses.
The SMEH will utilize digital platforms, traditional media, and events to disseminate its training programs. Targeted audiences include mechanical engineers, students, other universities, industry and governmental staff. Marketing efforts will involve a project website, social media, brochures, conferences and job fairs.
- Leverage innovative tools such as webinars, podcasts, and LinkedIn campaigns to reach a wider audience.
- Cooperation with other INTEC partners and joint projects
- Broaden outreach to include policymakers, environmental NGOs, and international partners.
We will offer hands – on training on simulation of efficiency tasks for vehicles. We will have consulting services, industrial collaborations, and integration into bachelor’s/master’s programs. The availability of INTEC equipment will offer a competitive and unique advantage over other training programs currently available in Montenegro or Albania. We will also offer consulting services to private-sector companies and industrial collaborations, including engagement with industrial project partners.
